So, what started Diesel Dock. Well, it’s a long story so let’s get into it.
Back in 2022 I decided to start a YouTube channel so I could post videos with a friend of mine about my old trucks and tractors. Now I didn’t have a lot of stuff to film about, but I figured I would in the future, and boy was I right.
At first my channel did not really have a name. I had come up with several different names trying to find one that fit, but nothing seemed to resonate. During the first year of the channel, I was in the process of going thru a college program to get my diesel certification. While we were working in the shop there, my fellow classmates started calling me Dirty Diesel Dock, or triple d for short. This was because of my unusual knack of getting a large amount of oil, dirt, and grease onto me. Even on the simplest of jobs. And since my name was Dock, and I was fixing diesel engines, it became my nickname.
Now a few months after I had started the channel I had not yet come up with a name and decided to ask people for ideas. I asked friends, family and people I knew but they didn’t seem to have anything I really liked. Finally, I decided to ask my classmates. Well pretty early on they suggested using my nickname, which I was strongly against. But after they joked around for a bit one of them suggested I just used Diesel Dock. This was it! The name for my channel had finally been created, and the best part was that it had a story.
Even though the channel is called Diesel Dock, it doesn’t focus on diesels. Here I work on all things old and unique. Everything from engines to equipment and implements. I’ll save trucks that are rotting in fields or just the unwanted projects and get them going and have some fun with them. After a while I make up my mind whether I want to keep them or not.
So, if you are into old school trucks and equipment, this is the channel for you.
